ALZHIR museum
We will visit the museum and memorial complex dedicated to the memory of the victims of political repression, the largest Soviet women's concentration camp ALZHIR, where the so-called “wives of traitors to the motherland” were brought from all over the USSR. These were mainly wives of famous government, political and public figures, whose names are widely known throughout the post-Soviet space. More than 18 thousand women passed through the prison, and about 8 thousand women served their sentences here from start to finish. This is a place that still stands as a silent witness to the human tragedy of the 20th century.
